Environmental Compliance Team (ECT)
The University of Connecticut has two Environmental Compliance Teams or ECTs. One team represents the main campus in Storrs which includes the Depot Campus, and the other team represents regional campuses. The ECT is born from the UConn’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP) as a way to improve communications about common compliance issues. Adopted by UConn in 2006 and approved by the CT DEP in 2007, the EMP formalizes environmental compliance. The purposes of the ECTs are to:
The Storrs ECT held its kick-off meeting in February 2008. Reflecting the success of the Storrs ECT, the Regional ECT for staff at five regional campuses and the law school was formed. The teams meet 3 to 4 times a year. Both teams represent University departments with operations that may have regulatory compliance responsibilities. The Regional ECT team also includes faculty whose research activities cause them to have a role in environmental compliance. Team members include representatives from the following UConn departments.
